coexistapart's Diaryland Diary

pay yourself first

I am on my flight from Chicago to Toronto. So far, everything is ok; I could have gotten a few more things into my check luggage, but for all intents and purposes I am happy.

Anna made a big stink about me unfriending her on fb. I kind of knew she would...I mean it's exactly the kind of person, who is no longer your friend, to get all up in arms about being "unfriended." I mean honestly, what on earth has our society come to where these are our standard forms of coomunication? Or at least that is the case with Anna.

She is also emailed my mother for more legal advice this weekend, as though I would not find out. Clearly anyone who reads this knows that I do not have a stellar relationship with my mother, but still--that is definitely crossing over the line of not acceptable. Way to take advantage of someone's generosity, no?

So I have no idea where this leaves us; I have not deigned to answer her last message because she is getting all self-righteous about this dinner at Stewart's apartment in March. S:2 may very well have been drunk out of her minf, but both her rudeness and his were just deplorable...some of the worst behavior I have seen ever, let alone as a get in someone else's home.

Regardless. I don't know where this leaves us--like is she fighting to remain friends or is she fighting to think that she is right?

Leaving Big this morning was sad, I could have bawled my eyes out right there in the pull-in, but thankfully the irritation I feel with Anna has largely taken care of it. I can look optimistically towards the future, but without thinking about it too hard as 6 months is kind of a long time.

Waiting in the departure gate, I was watching this fat girl watching these pretty, skinny girls recently returned from Australia. She: severely overweight at 250-300 lbs crammed into a black "suit"-like outfit made of rayon from the reject clothier at the strip mall, where everything is that flat tone black for $14.99 or less. She had a relatively expensive highlight job (as if that would make a difference) daily-washed hair up in a clear, patterned claw (of all things) becasue she got the "luxury" of staying at an airport hotel and opted to sleep in and enjoy the "luxury" or she wanted the free brakfast. Her fat is pouring over the sides of the departure gate bench, what will it be like on the plane? She clutches an empty Dasani bottle and a cyan leather purse lacking in such a degree of identity that it has mock Chanel buckle that is totally clueless. (Clarity)

Them: two girls and a boyfriend returning from a summer in Australia. Tanned skin, grown in roots, a Billabong "Australia" shirt with the requisite beach-woven jewellry. One smoothes cream cheese into a toasted bagel that came off in the wax paper wrapper; the other double dips a flourette of cauliflour in full-fat Ranch dressing. There's a gold SYD duty free bag, some leggings and a men's shirt tail
