coexistapart's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \"before the Indian mango detente\" --NPR It's such a glorious blue day outside, I cannot wait to go to the pool in a couple of hours. It very well may have been like this yesterday too, but I was stuck inside watching too many episodes of "The First 48." There is really no one to blame but myself.... But from this day forward, I am going to endeavour to go to the pool at least three times per week. That should be no problem; I just need to work it into alternating between/around gym days, as lying out in the sun for two hours really does not get me ready for running four miles. Anyway. I woke up this morning and made pancakes. Then I went to the post office, the recycling depot, the library, the bank, the dry clearner's, Office Max, the grocery store, Target...all of the usual things that accumulate when I have not been out of the house for a few days. I have picked up the mail and done 5 loads of laundry; really, at this point, there is just a few nominal things left on my list to feel productive. This morning they're talking about equality versus equity as in issue in the Iranian presidential campaign, that many wives are getting out to support their husbands. Iran is not a country I pay attention to, except when other countries are screaming foul, but I guess this is exactly the kind of shift in power I imagine will make the daily news when I am in Jerusalem. Speaking of which, I need to book and find somewhere to stay for that first weekend. I have some reasonably high-value things to go on eBay; half the battle is actually getting them up there, not even selling them. I have some personal care packages I need to wrap up, and a couple of brief letters to write in additional to the usual nitnoid things I can accomplish in front of the television. It's funny because I am trying to get all caught up as though we have exciting plans for the weekend; however, I suspect it will simply constitute me going out to the farmer's market Saturday, and everyone going out shooting Sunday. Tomorrow there is Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but it's youth versus experience (Pittsburgh-Detroit) so it's basically a foregone conclusion. I wore contacts again yesterday. I suspect I do prefer one of the two brands they assigned me; the house came into much sharper focus--whereas in Ottawa everything seemed the same--so I will get on to replacing my regular lenses. The contacts are good, easy to put it, but a nightmare (still) to take out; I think I will buy just 30 to take to Israel, I really cannot see myself going through much more than that for the first few months. 11:01 a.m. - 2009-06-11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
