coexistapart's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- not sure I will ever trust Canada Post ever again It's a four-day weekend for us here. Friday Big only worked a half day, then Monday is MLK Jr. Day and Tuesday is the Inauguration--both of which the US Army takes off from work. In the old days this might have frightened me as a tremendous amout of time off, during which we might have fought about which movies to watch and who gets to do what on their own, but this weekend should be fine. Yesterday I ran errands when he got home from work (library, post office, yarn store) and then we went to the $2 movies to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." That was almost too much for that movie; do you have any idea how misleading the original trailer was? It was kind of ridiculous. Slept in until 10am this morning, then I went to the farmers' market to pick up some veggies and Sam's Club to price out some stuff for the APO packages. Had a burrito for lunch and have since spent the last couple of hours clipping magazine recipes to keep. I'm just about to head to the gym and then we will go for a walk along the burm that overlooks town, maybe get some soft serve from Caliche's, and watch "Happy Feet" later. If not, I will just continue to scrapbook and start the next "Little House on the Prarie" book. Tomorrow we are going to El Paso to do some shopping and so that I can go ice skating at the Coliseum. Monday I'm taking the car in to replace tires with money I earned on eBay; between the $800 print, and some items really jumping in price during the last couple minutes of bidding, my 60-day total is $1900. That's the highest I've ever done, particularly with little junky things adding up. We have a couple of other things planned for the weekend, but I'm just feeling really blue because Big went to get the mail and my package from Canada is STILL not here. It was mailed last Thursday, as in 10 days ago. It was supposed to be here in 2-4 days. Now I have to have copies made an them FedExed down here Monday to arrive Tuesday to be sent to Middlebury Wednesday. It's just such a waste, disheartening, and frustrating. I feel like...what's the point now? And Juanita sent me a postcard from Toronto, the same city, when she returned from Cuba and it got here DAYS ago. It'll end up being a good weekend, I'm just really frustrated and disheartened right now. 3:12 p.m. - 2009-01-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
