coexistapart's Diaryland Diary

LHR

Arrived in London bright and early. Aside from never being able to sleep--except possibly in business class--things went quite smoothly; 8 hours is a piece of cake compared to Vancouver-Hong Kong. We were set to land when the noise curfew ended at 6:01am and I think even with immigration, money exchange, and me changing clothing and cleaning myself up in a tiny bathroom stall, I was out by 7:30am. It's just as well: the commuter ride to London almost made me late to arrive in Putney at 9:30am. Something in the neighbourhood of 30-40 stops on three different lines.

Managed to navigate getting an oyster (card) and the underground is really not as bad as I remember. Met up with Kimberley for lunch before work; I was drooping all day, but I made do. Next I went back down to Westminster to see the London Eye, Westminster Abbey, House of Parliament. I walked around to Trafalgar, Buckingham Palace, Downing & Whitehall streets....

I could say more but I'm exhausted; I just generally stayed busy and wasn't too impressed with anything.
